Time Alone With God

Living in today’s fast-paced world, it’s all too easy to become consumed by the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We’re constantly on the move, perpetually connected to our devices, and racing from one activity to the next. However, in the midst of all the noise and distractions, it’s crucial to take time to be alone with God. Spending time with God is vital for our spiritual growth and nourishment, as the words of Psalm 46:10 remind us to “Be still and know that I am God.”

From my personal experience, I’ve discovered that time alone with God is the most valuable and transformative time of my day. It’s a time when I can connect with God, seeking His guidance, wisdom, and presence. As C.S. Lewis once stated, “The moment you wake up each morning, all your wishes and hopes for the day rush at you like wild animals. And the first job each morning consists in shoving it all back; in listening to that other voice, taking that other point of view, letting that other, larger, stronger, quieter life come flowing in.”

Spending time alone with God isn’t solely about asking for blessings or presenting requests; it’s about cultivating a deeper relationship with Him. Much like how we need to spend time with our loved ones to build and strengthen our relationships, we need to devote time alone with God to enhance our connection with Him. Through this dedicated time, we come to know God more intimately and comprehend His will for our lives.
